Matteo Ferdinandi
Managing Partner

Born in Venice, Italy in 1966 from a family of bakers and restaurateurs, Matteo has been exposed to food and service since his early days. During the summer, Matteo worked with his father Guido Ferdinandi, at the bakery that has been owned and operated by the Ferdinandi family for four generations. In 1986 Matteo moved to London, England to study English and worked at Ristorante Italiano under the patronage of Maitre d’ Pasquale Ruggero.

In 1992, Matteo realized a life long dream and moved to the United States. After having managed “Harry’s Bar” in Century City and “Prego” in Beverly Hills, Matteo, moved to NYC, as the right opportunity arose.He became the General Manager of “Coco Pazzo” working with the famous restaurateur Pino Luongo. It is at Coco Pazzo where Matteo met Soerke Peters.

In 2003, Matteo accepted the position as General Manager of Wolfgang Puck’s Spago Las Vegas. Once again he reached the top of the corporate ladder and under his patronage Spago won the Epicurean award of “Best Power Lunch” and “Best American Restaurant”. Matteo moved back to Los Angeles as the General Manager of Wolfgang Puck’s then newest Restaurant “Cut and sidebar”, at the Beverly Wilshire a Four Seasons Hotel. Matteo was then ready to make “Froma on Melrose” a reality and a success with Francine and Soerke. Matteo is now the Partner/General Manager of "Drago Centro" 525 South Flower Street Suite 120 Los Angeles, CA 90071 opening late summer.
