Soerke Peters is an award-winning international Chef, whose far-reaching experience includes the mastery of cuisine to corporate managerial experiences.Chef Soerke Peters’ interest in cooking started at an early age. He remembers cooking with his grandmother as a young boy, and followed this path his entire career to become a chef.Chef Peters was born and raised in Northern Germany and started his apprenticeship at the age of 16 as is typical in Europe. He worked in numerous hotel and Michelin star-rated restaurants, including high level positions in the kitchens of restaurants with the highly coveted three star rating.

This award winning chef has won the prestigious Rudolf Achenbach Preis award, as well as 1st place in the world-renown Chaine des Rotisseurs Award.Besides many appearances on the Food Network and becoming known for his intriguing menu choices, Chef Peters also runs a tight ship. In 2000 Soerke met Matteo Ferdinandi at Coco Pazzo in NYC, Soerke was the Executive Chef and Matteo the General Manager. An immediate respect for each other developed that led to an everlasting friendship between the two and their families.

Soerke has been mastering Italian cuisine at Ca’ del Sole in Los Angeles and continued to research boutique suppliers and establishing business relationships with many of them knowing that they would have come helpful when the time to open Froma on Melrose was near. The time is now, and Chef Peters is determined to set new standards in the food retail industry in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for food research, product mix, and new vendor/cheese maker relations. Chef Peters will stay at his current position as Executive Chef at Ca’del Sole Restaurant.
